Flammability test – Motor vehicle  interior material

Innovative Composite Products, in continuation of its research and development program in collaboration with CTT Group, conducted a series of tests on its products. In an effort to evaluate the flammability of these materials, we initiated the assessment based on:

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 49 CFR § 571.302 – Standard No. 302; Flammability of Interior Materials.

In the realm of automotive safety standards, FMVSS Section § 571.302 stands as a crucial benchmark. At its core, Standard No. 302 addresses the flammability of interior materials within vehicles. As we delve into the intricacies of this standard, we unravel the pivotal role it plays in ensuring the safety and well-being of vehicle occupants.

FMVSS Section § 571.302 mandates a rigorous assessment of materials used in the interior of vehicles. This evaluation scrutinizes the susceptibility of these materials to catch fire, emphasizing the need for resilience against potential ignition sources. From seat cushions to dashboard components, every element undergoes meticulous testing to meet the stringent criteria set by the standard.
